Boudoir Vs Glamour

I have been considering myself all this time to be a boudoir photographer, but I have been questioning whether or not I still am, or if I am actually a glamour photographer. What is the difference between boudoir and glamour photography you may ask? Most people believe it’s the same thing and they actually have a big difference and just revolve around a similar type of photos.

Glamour photography usually involves professional models using unique facial and body expressions to create an exciting, visually appealing photograph. One type that most people do with this type of photography is pinup photography. These models are generally fully clothed, but may also be in a type of lingerie that covers more of the body, and the outfit is often a key focus of the picture. Usually used commercially or for advertising, glamour photography aims to highlight a model's face with plenty of makeup and good lighting. Glamour photography is also used a lot for fashion ads in commercials or tv ads.

Boudoir photography, on the other hand, aims to capture a nude, half-dressed, or lingerie-clad women's figure in an enticing and sexy way. They are mostly used to highlight a woman’s sexual figure and to help her feel sexy about herself. These shoots usually take place someplace private, as they are supposed to allude to a secrecy between the model and whomever she chooses to share her photographs with. Usually these photos are used for couples wanting to give a little something special to their significant other on a special occasion such as an anniversary or valentines day. Brides sometimes get boudoir photos taken of them before the wedding to give to their partner as a very special wedding gift.

The difference between these two very beautiful types of photography is very fine, but it mainly has to do with how glamour with show off an attractive model to everyone and make her feel attractive as well, while boudoir is to show a very sexy hush hush side of a model that isn't often seen, but is very nice to see and makes the model feel very good about herself. Both of these types of photography are a fantasy. They are taken to show what a woman wants to see herself as. It is her perfect image of herself and is done to show off this side. It is special due to the fact that no one really sees this fantasy except for the woman herself in her head. Making it a real thing often boosts a woman's self esteem and makes her very happy about herself.

Either of these types of photography would be great for me to take because I love to be able to bring those special fantasies to life and make anyone feel beautiful. It is a privilege to be able to make anyone feel good about themselves and I would love to do this for most of my life if I could.
